Paddle Games – 2025 Fantasy Format & Rules Summary

1. Introduction
The Fantasy Paddle Games is a unique and entertaining category created to mix professional athletes with young talents and fans.
In this format, two boys and two girls are randomly chosen and paired with Elite athletes to form mixed fantasy teams. This race is designed as a showcase event, emphasizing inclusion, fun, and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of competing alongside the best.
2. Race Format
Team Composition
- Two boys + Two girls (randomly chosen).
- Two men + Two women (from Elite category).
- Pairings:
- Boys race in K2 with Elite women.
- Girls race in K2 with Elite men.
This ensures all paddlers compete in mixed K2 crews, building unique fantasy teams.
Race Structure
- One direct final only.
- No heats or semifinals.
- Race course follows the Elite format:
- Two buoys at start.
- Two buoys for turns.
- Inside → outside turns.
3. Safety Rules
- Same as Elite Rules:
- Contact permitted but within limits.
- Dangerous conduct = disqualification.
- Broken paddles: athlete may continue with hands.
- All incidents judged by referees.
4. Penalties
- 10s penalty: early line crossing without bow over.
- Disqualification (DSQ): bow over line, wrong turns.
- Did Not Finish (DNF): capsize without remounting.
- No protests; all races are video judged.
5. Prize
- No prizes will be awarded.
- The reward is the unique opportunity to race with the Elite paddlers in an official Paddle Games final.
