Last year’s Paddle Games Ciutat de Palma Trophy was a thrilling celebration of sprint canoeing, skill, and spectacle on the water. With 32 elite athletes racing in front of the iconic Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca, the event delivered unforgettable moments and incredible energy, and we’re ready to build on that momentum.
This year, we’re thinking about introducing a new twist to make the Games even more exciting and inclusive: an open-entry qualifying race that gives more paddlers the chance to be part of the action.
As you may know, last year’s competition was fully invitation-based. But for 2025, we want to open the door to a wider community. The top four women and top four men from the qualifying race will be selected to form two new mixed wildcard teams. These teams will then compete in the main event, going head-to-head with the six pre-established elite teams.
We believe this change will bring a fresh layer of unpredictability and excitement to the event, while offering aspiring paddlers the unique opportunity to race alongside some of the biggest names in our sport.
The qualification race will follow the same format as the elite races, ensuring consistency. However, before we move forward, we need to understand whether there’s enough interest in this opportunity. That’s where you come in.
If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, please submit your name and email to express your interest. This is not a formal registration or selection – it simply helps us understand what our community wants and how much demand there is for this new format.
Of course, our core elite lineup remains a central part of the Paddle Games, ensuring world-class racing at every stage. But we’re excited to introduce this wildcard element!
We’ve also got a few more exciting updates in store, which we’ll be sharing very soon. For now, we hope you’re as excited as we are about what’s coming.
Let us know if you’re interested. We’d love to see you on the start line.
Submit your name and email to express your interest. Let’s make this year’s Paddle Games the best yet.
